The texts, editorial structure, interactive maps and timelines, layout and source code of the website are protected by copyright (French Intellectual Property Code and international conventions, including the Berne Convention). Unless the publisher has given written permission, reproducing or adapting them, in whole or in part, is prohibited, except where the law allows it, such as a short quotation with the name of the website and a link to the page quoted.
5. Image and data credits
- Artworks and historical documents: the paintings, engravings, maps and documents reproduced are, for the most part, in the public domain. Their reproductions come mainly from Wikimedia Commons and from the collections of the museums and libraries named in the captions.
- Recent photographs: some are published under a free licence (for example Creative Commons BY or BY-SA); the author and licence are given in the caption of each image.
- Historical flags: authors and licences are given below the “Forces” block of each battle.
- Base maps: tiles © Esri and its data providers, displayed with the open-source Leaflet library (BSD-2-Clause licence).
- Fonts: Cinzel and DM Sans, under the SIL Open Font License, hosted on the website.
If you hold rights to any content and believe it is being used wrongly, write to contact@empirenapoleon.com and it will be corrected or removed promptly.

The website links to other websites (Wikipedia, museums, online bookshops, etc.). The publisher does not control those websites and is not responsible for their content or practices. You are welcome to link to Empire Napoléon, provided you do not display its pages inside another website and do not suggest any partnership.

The content is published for information and educational purposes. It is written carefully from verified sources but may contain errors or gaps; reports are welcome at contact@empirenapoleon.com. The publisher cannot guarantee uninterrupted access and is not liable for damage resulting from use of the website, except in the event of fault on its part or where the law provides otherwise.
